House &#8211; Palm Springs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I go to Palm Springs every Thanksgiving with the whole family to visit my grandfather and enjoy the sun.\u00a0 The trip for me always entails a day of enjoying the modern architecture and some modern shopping.\u00a0 My very favorite house (and I&#8217;m hardly alone in this assessment) is Neutra&#8217;s 1946 <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Kaufmann_Desert_House\" target=\"_blank\">Kaufmann House<\/a>.\u00a0 I try to visit it with each trip, and this was no exception.\u00a0 I got some nice photos I thought I&#8217;d share.<\/p>\n<p>It blows my mind that this house was commissioned by the same guy who commissioned Frank Lloyd Wright&#8217;s Falling Water.\u00a0 It just shows the impact one man with a vision can leave on the world through adventurous investments in the power of new ideas.<\/p>\n<p>The family that restored it from near tear down condition is currently selling it.\u00a0 Or, actually they sold it at auction earlier this year for $15M but the sale fell through, and now it is for sale.\u00a0 How many copies of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.danishpepper.com\">Danish Pepper<\/a> would I have to sell to afford it?\u00a0 Hmmm&#8230;.<\/p>\n<p>Click the photos for a full sized version.<\/p>\n<p><a
