A Dansk palisander rosewood tray by Jens Quistgaard sold for $680 today on eBay. This tray is perhaps the most elaborate JHQ design for Dansk, and was part of the valuable “Rare Wood” series. It consists of two side rails spanned by a dozen slats. Each slat is attached to the rail by a small wood peg.
I have this tray in my collection, and as a hobby woodworker I can’t for the life of my understand how this could be a production piece made for general manufacture. It must have been very expensive, taking untold hours of highly skilled Danish craftsman time.

I’m trying to start a new session, I wanted to share a Rare Wood Zabuton tray from Quistgaard that I found here in hawaii. I need help so I could post some pics of this beautiful piece.
