There’s an auction right now for a JHQ mill that someone in Colorado decided to decorate. That’s right, she took a wood burning tool to the mill and drew flowers, curly lines, and dots all over it. Looks like she did a nice job, but why would she do this? Does this increase the value? It’s one thing to find this at a garage sale like this and try to put a spin on it and sell it, its another thing to take a perfectly good mill and say to yourself “Hey, if I decorate this, it will become something I can sell on eBay for more than I have been able to without the decorations. I’ll even make more money if I post photos of me decorating it.”
If Picasso, or a musician, or somebody known did it I could understand. But somebody whose other auctions are mainly outdated consumer electronics, I really don’t get it.
So, photos and all, enjoy the auction. Bid high, and bid often.

Nobody bought it from the original listing. Now it’s been relisted for $50. Let’s see if anyone bites.
