Did you see the new poster for the upcoming Gary Hustwit film Objectified? If you liked his film Helvetica, you’ll love this one! The poster is super cool and show a great range of amazing objects from throughout the history of Industrial Designer. I don’t see any Jens Quistgaard pieces in there, but is that a peppermill second from the right in the 4th row down? Can’t tell.
I couldn’t help but notice the similarity between this poster and a Dansk ad from 1961. Both use silouettes to bring out the core beauty of the objects’ form (sorry for the poor scan). Even though Dansk came out with this idea 48 years ago, they lose points by not subtly spelling “Dansk” with the flatware 😉
