A lot of 60 mills will be auctioned off by Wright on Nov 18. There are 43 by JHQ and the rest Nissen and Digsmed.
You can see the it at Wright along with the rest of their Scandinavian Design auction. They have put together an amazing collection of works – it’s worth checking them all out here.
My one gripe is that they have mis-appropriated two pieces to Jens Quistgaard. Or is that two gripes? He did not design that Lovig desk or those removable top tables. Usually Wright is pretty solid in that regard.
UPDATE: The lot sold for $11,250. And, a Quistgaard Dansk magazine rack sold for $1,000.
By the way, does the Flash “enlarge” function on the site work for anyone? It doesn’t work for me, so I can’t see the mills very well. Strange, since Wright does some cool things with HTML, but they use Flash for this. Ooops, I think that is three gripes.

Odd that they would credit Quistgaard with those tables when they were made in Sweden. As far as I know they were produced by/for Dux. Not sure who designed them though.
A higher resolution version is in your inbox… the enlarge didn’t work for me, but “print” did (since they “print” to a PDF, and the picture isn’t as downsampled there).
Thanks, Todd. What a horrible photo!
I’m thinking this might be part of Sam Kaufman’s collection: http://www.teakpepper.com/teakpepper/2009/06/19/amazing-pepper-mill-collection/
Interesting. Do you think they have any better material for identifying these mills than we do? Just saying, since the only real link to Digsmed for the peppermills with magnets is circumstantial. I’d guess not, since it looks like the faux-Quistgaard mill from the other week is hiding to the left of the Jane reissue…
I bet they used your site!
By the way, Wright has updated (corrected) their description of the two pieces previously listed as Quistgaard.
